When its Hot its Summer. When its Cold its Winter
When its Hot its Summer. When its Cold its Winter
I was wathcing the history channel just last night. Archeologists were recovering artifacts from Alexandria.
It was very interesting because it is 25 feet below the surface of the Mediterranean sea.
That means the water now covers old beaches, the bounderies of where the water used to meet the earth.
What caused this?
In our dark ages we had a mini ice age start. That helped the plague spread. Caused the Vikings to dissapear from Greenland. The Delaware river was chocked with ice when even our General Washington was crossing it to go whup the Huns.
What caused that?
The mini ice age stopped around 1865 toward and end after the civil war. That is when the recorded records of the climate very noticeably changed for the warmer. Basically to the climate we know now.
I am sure the climate changes over time up and down. Maybe the emisions from our civilations attribute to this. But, Mostly I think it is alot of immagination and speculation on something we know to be a constant. Climate change.
Califonia has a great fault. One day it will be a major problem. This fault could cause a major disaster. But not untill and only when God decides to change the boundries of where the water is stopped by the land. Can we stop this?
I believe this is a good comparison to chicken little running around yelling the sky is falling. Chicken little got eaten by the fox.
I don't why I wrote the last there, just thought I'd throw in there I guess.
Forgive the spelling I did not have time to check it I must get back to work.

Okay
Thanks for the points people. I wish you would have left a comment. Or two.
Colder and colder...
It seems that the winters are colder and longer (global warming?). This "summer" has been very cool so far, I hear it was snowing in washington - just this morning...what the what? Anyway I like the article. +1

Cool summer? Sign me up...
Actually summer hasn't started in North America yet. But the eastern U.S. has gotten a jump on things with a very unusual 4-day heat wave... it was 93 to 97 degrees in New York the last few days.. unheard of for June. In a town near me it was 99 degrees. At least a few records were broken. Usually it's not until August that NYC sees heat and humidity this miserable.
As for global warming, supposedly one of the characteristics of it is not just hotter average temperatures, but more fluctuations, and wider fluctuations, meaning it will be cooler than average at times.
Hot
It's pretty hot right now with lots of mosquitoes. Wonder what that tells us.
Nice
You have summer and winter: we have always winter!!!!!!!!!!!!
For Christmas we've had a sunny day, for Easter snow... and now only rain, rain, rain again. We must adapt our seasons...
Washington snow in June
Thats me, I live in washington. It snowed at snoqualmie pass, crazy wheather, that's for sure. I just hope we get out of this soon, before fall hits.
omg hit post comment twice
So now this is an edited duplicate of the one I just left so I don't look like I am just repeating myself cause I can't use the mouse. double clicked, what's wrong with me.
This ain't your forte; wishing climate warming away won't help.
Egypt's Alexandria was named for this guy, who at the time, conquered most of the "known" world. He did not know about the Cherokees or Apaches, but was a heck of a warrior. It is good to see you are interested in history.
Have you any idea how much CO2, Water Vapor, or Methane it takes to create a balanced climate? Or from where it comes?
You can invoke chicken and fox for other things that might disturb your view of the planet or the universe. But heck, with the internet, we almost get an oyster.
And that is a wonderful solution! For some people. Give everyone a tool that can access much of the world -- would they use it for learning, for education or flicks? Or writing?
Climate and Weather. . .this is where your local weather really comes from, and you paid for it. And you can go to this site and type in your city, state and get a weather forecast! Upper left. Won't work for anywhere but US in detail. There is a lot to explore at this site.
http://www.noaa.gov/
Rocks DO fall from the sky, very tiny to very large, and the reason we are here is that the dinosaurs are not.
You seem like a cool fella so maybe you will get hold of this:
The CO2 provides about 20% of the greenhouse effect, but water vapor (the gaseous form of water) provides about 50%, and clouds (water liquid and water ice) contribute about 25%; while ozone, methane, and other minor gases make up the rest of the global warming greenhouse gas components.
California's San Andreus Fault is moving and quaking as we sit here. Most of them are small quivers. Here is a map of some shaking from data over a period of time covering much of the US and although the current administration has dumbed down all the science sites of the Federal Government, including this USGS site, there is much information you can use to educate yourself.
This map shows relative shaking hazards in the United States and Puerto Rico. During a 50-year time period, the probability of strong shaking increases from very low (white), to moderate (blue, green, and yellow), to high (orange, pink, and red). Map not to scale. Source: USGS
Well they messed the graphic up in posting this because the white area is gone and the black areas like much of Texas is where shaking is low... ]
Another USGS site that might help you grasp the earthquake hazards, plate tectonics and even the inundation of many places around the world is here:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/
Which you may want to bookmark if you are interested in the big fault and others in California
It is great that you are taking an interest in learning about the world. It might be helpful for your posts, and your writing; it will improve your mind, make you worth a lot more to your workplace and employer.
Good luck.
Earthquakes Yea expect more
Yea I'm all for using up our natural gas. The sooner the better.
I read the back of the book. I know what happens. Getting Nervous? I really don't think Al Gore is going to change the fact that our climate and sea shores change. Spraying aluminum and nitrates into the air. Over the people shopping at the swap meets accross America is not going to stop it. In fact I think it is humorous. And arrogant to blame our climate on this current administration. Like is being done. Silly.
Global Warming: We Call It 'the Sun'
That's similar to something cheif weatherman Gary England told me in an email-interview I reported for AssociatedContent.
Silliness knows no bounds; ignorance can be remedied
Compared to us, it is a very large place.

Can you see Pikes Peak? Did you know that Zebulon Pike thought it was over 16000 feet high and would never be climbed; he had a faulty barometer, but at least has a peak named for him. Thomas Jefferson would have been interested in what the country was to become around Colorado Springs.
I am disturbed by the headspace Colorado Springs has developed, encouraged and become -- much of it belongs mentally in Idaho. Boulder is a little more interesting, since the area does engage in higher learning pursuits.
Good to see you are reading and learning. You are, aren't you? Education can help you. Try it! Thanks for you response.
I included the Solar energy and Sun's future postings of mine.
The brightest bright was impressive. For a short time, 360 quadrillion times as bright as the sun.
learn on.
Gary England -- yes, I read your report.
There is such a vast collection of information around him and us that this ignorance could be remedied. It is so difficult to become enlightened; to become more in tune with the inevitable.
4.567 Billion trips around the sun and human CO2 doom is not going to stop the clockwork physics of the earth's angular momentum and the little variations of perturbations our world has undergone.
The real warming is far ahead. But it takes a large faith to get it worked into the head and the reality of our existence!
What you gonna believe!?
If you see it and sense it can you believe it?
Okay smart guy. Lets match
Okay smart guy. Lets match witts. Good ol Pike also carried a toilet, pronounced toylay, with him up the mountain. I think gook ole Pike was in it for the GLAMOUR. When it came to it. He was too full of crap to face that absolute. Are we praising him or are we mocking him when we call the mountain Pikes Peak?
Here in Boulder the problem is too many students of knowledge. They can't answer a question to save their lives. They are too busy asking them. But if you go to MY latest post you will see the doctrines they do teach.
As far as me learning. Man I'm a sponge. Look on MYprofile. Right there in the bio will tell you I need more school. So reckon I am the first to tell you that.
And I still know how it all ends. I read the back of the book. This world is for sure going to shake like a woman giving birth. There is going to be some big hale stones too killing cows, smashing in house roofs and the such. So I reckon that means, could be some weather changes going on here in the future. I expect it.
Chevrolet, coupe, touche, toilet, yeah I heard of French.
I read your post. I suppose it is a credit to you that you wrote it.
Science is not your forte, like Chevrolet or toupee, but I did read your bio and agree education is important for you.
As for wits? You are probably pretty witty. Your stringing words together that sometimes make sense! But some don't.
Climate Change is real.
It is caused by the man-made emissions of fossil Carbon as CO2.
It has the capacity to end our kind of life on earth.
Without remediation it will do so.
------------
Falling rocks. Inevitable. Some will be significant, and every 100 million years or so, we get a big one. And that big one really puts the stress on any life that survives it.
We are due for a little one (a "leetle" one) -- but if it were a comet -- that might trump low velocity impacts of rocks.
Keep writing. It is good for you.
I'll keep commenting, but especially when you are doing something I think is nonsensical.
In Southern Colorado is a reconstruction of Pikes Stockade, the place from which he was escorted to Sante Fe. He did not live long after return to the colonies. You can appreciate that part of his winter of 1807 was spent along the Arkansas north of Salida. Mocking Pike? Not me. He was a flatlander. His lungs did not have time to adapt to the altitude. He got sick. He was sick in Sante Fe and in Mexico City before being sent back to the U S colonies.
On the mocking, no. Though I can get the picture all right.
Learn about the variations of brainwiring, about variations on a theme.
You may remain closed-minded as you age. I sure have been. Chuckle-chuckle.
Good luck.
Chicken little never figured
Chicken little never figured out when the apple is ripe it falls off of the tree. Does not mean science is a scary thing. The inevitable will happen. When General Washington crossed the Delaware it was choked with ice. This does not happen anymore. It stopped doing that around 1865. What caused that warm up? What caused it to freeze in the first place to start that mini ice age that lasted for five hundred years. Greenland used to be green. And warm climate. Maybe you should invest in land in Greenland. Carbon emisions.
Just never seems to amaze me how some want to prove how smart they are in there own lifetime. I believe it is because life is so short. Be truthfull. Tell the world the human race has a great sense of self righteousness that has to be satisfied. What better way to do this than I have to fix the earth. Does not mean a good thing is bad.
Even at others expense. I know I know. You are absolutely correct the sky is falling... or is the apple just ripe?
I read the end of the book. The apple is still on the tree bud.
Look even our enemies have there own way of destroying this world. So many have to die before allah comes back. They are just helping. I say Both this global gore that you have obviously bought into and our enemies doctrine of when allah comes back are hurtful.

The Sponge Doesn't Know the Beer from the Kerosene
That knowing is the true 'education' (lit. 'arranging whatever is drawn from within').
The 'whole world shakes like a woman giving birth' when you're in a cardboard box on the gym-floor during a basketball game. (You educe that it's not "the whole world," but you don't care at that time.)
This world is not even a single 'brick,' let alone the whole 'wall.'
