Bio: I was born and and raised on godawfully flat Long Island, but also lived in much bumpier Colorado as a child. My college years were spent in genteel Virginia and Spain (during Franco's rule). Most of my adult life has played out in San Francisco, with sojourns in San Diego, Honolulu, upstate New York, New Mexico, Mexico, and Ethiopia, and journeys through Europe, Africa, the Middle and Far East and North and South America. I now live full-time in a rural area in ridiculously enchanting northern New Mexico with my dogs, cats, husband, and assorted wildlife, having discovered the joys of not moving about so much, and am self-employed in publishing and transcription. And oh yes, I'm an unrepentant animal rights "extremist" and ethical vegan as well as an old-fashioned socialist-style liberal.
